Partners, family and friends

Sexual abuse issues can have an effect on relationships with partners, family and friends. Feelings of guilt, shame and embarrassment may make it difficult for a man to talk about what has happened to him. Counselling can give you some space to discuss what is going on for you and to gain some insight and understanding.

Counselling for significant others is an opportunity to explore how you are feeling about what has happened. Sometimes, when supporting someone else through a difficult time it can be hard to know what is the best thing to do. Talking to a counsellor can give you some space to discuss what is going on for you and to gain some insight and understanding.

For those that wish to come to counselling with their partner, we may be able to arrange couple counselling. Please contact us to enquire about availability.
